A story that has a realistic touch with raw picturization is sure to have an impact on the viewers. The Italian crime drama ‘Zero Zero Zero’ is one such series that leaves a lasting effect with some memorable performances and intense sequences.

The multilayered series has a simple plot that traces the journey of a shipment from Mexico to Italy. However, the entangled lives of the people dependent on the shipment who try to get better of the other party give the series the much needed piquant taste to the viewers. Speaking of which, the screenplay had a uniqueness in the way in which the lives of the major characters is woven together and is certainly one of the major positive to the series.

The performances from the lead characters were truly commendable. Andrea Riseborough and Dane Dehaan were the only known faces in the series. Nevertheless, each and every artist in the series played their part well without any shortcomings. As the story is about the journey of the shipment, it did provide for some exhilarating adventures that was truly violent and gritty and were executed really well that the tension transcends on the screen.

The travel across the desert, the sequences in Senegal, and the illustrations of Mexican lifestyle did provide for some immersive experience with enough assistance from the music department. Lastly, the show adds value from its natural representation of several violent and hardheaded sequences that sends chills down the spine.

There aren’t many shortcomings in the series. The starting is a little shaky, certain patchy sequences and some cliche predictable scenes dent the series to a minimal extent. Despite being so, the series is truly watchable for the excellent story which has a raw and realistic touch.

Spanning across 8 episodes with each running at an average of 55 minutes, the series is currently streaming in Amazon Prime.
