After contemplating how to start this article in a new way, writing the same as the introduction.

I don’t know if I am qualified to be called “tech-savvy” but I have found ways to do things in simpler ways with the assistance of different applications and websites I have explored. I am going to write about one such application that is of ample use in our day-to-day life and I am not sure how many of us are aware of it. The application that I am talking about is “Google Lens”. It is one of the multipurpose applications that I have found to be extremely useful in everyday life. If you already are aware of its use, feel free to skip the article.

So, let’s begin. I’ll narrate how the application has been useful with examples from my life.

1. Picture-to-text converter: Recently, I wrote something(personal) on my office laptop. It was about a page or two. Office laptop is ensured with high security and I couldn’t transfer the content to my mobile or my laptop. After muddling with it for hours, I finally found a solution with Google Lens. I took a pic of the text I wrote with my phone and I selected the option “select text”. Then I copied and pasted the text to my notes and there I have my text on my mobile. Since it’s office laptop and personal text, I cannot share both here. Instead I will transfer this draft to my mobile notes.

2. The translator: Recently, there was a news clip or something of that sort with everything written in Tamil. A Twitter mutual asked for help to translate the same to English. It was a picture that contained a lot of Tamil in it. Translating them line by line would be tedious. I used Google Lens to capture the pic and translated the entire text in a jiffy. It was a swift and neat process and got the result to the maximum perfection possible.

3. The product search: I have a friend who is keen on what you wear and how you look. I ask him for any assistance in my wardrobe. About a year or back, a new picture of the actor Vijay was released. While the whole community was going crazy over his Benjamin Button-esque transition, this guy was keen on finding out about the shirt he wore in that picture. I used the lens to search the picture, cropped the shirt alone, and did an image search in Google Lens. And there it was that showed numerous results of the shirts(and the available online shops) that looked around 70-80% similar to what he was wearing. Since it was a year ago, I couldn’t find the actual photo of Vijay that I searched for. I’m presenting you with something similar to it.

4. Homework: I haven’t used this feature as I haven’t got the need. Turns out, you can also solve your homework problems with Lens. I did try one for example and it works pretty perfectly.

So, that’s it for now. Try exploring the application and I hope you find it useful in your daily life.
