SRH: The new DC?

Not because I support SRH but SRH are the most weakest team in the IPL. They have negligible to nothing from Indian players and heavily reliant on the foreigners. The foreigners that SRH benched are some true gems that can’t fit into the eleven had they played for any other team.

Fabian Allen is an outstanding spin all-rounderall-rounder and can win matches from any position (Look into CPL St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots score cards). Mohd. Nabi is another amazing all-rounder who was in terrific form in this CPL. Jason holder is a terrific pace all-rounder who can bat as well as a pure batsman. He’s said to be the best middle order batsman at the moment in T20s. Billy Stanlake is that one tall pacer who can clock 145+ kph and his height adds advantage to his pace. He can make an impact equal to that of Jofra Archer but sadly no place for him as well.

Having said that, the eleven is too tight to occupy another player. Warner, the captain and the GOAT in IPL, can’t remove him. Bairstow is the wicket keeper who has been in good form. Rashid Khan, the worlds best spinner who has proven his worth time and again. The 4th spot is the only option and Kane Williamson is that only batsman that makes this weak middle order look okayish. Fortunately or unfortunately his injury has given chance for Holder who has performed well with the ball.

Coming to our Indian players, Manish Pandey who has been playing IPL since the past decade has been an amazing stat padder. On 11 occasions of Manish Pandey scoring 30+ runs, only 3 times that SRH has actually tasted victory. The reason being his strike rate who eat up all the balls while striking just around 120. The 3D player who showed lots of player Vijay Shankar is another player whom you can’t figure out what kinda player he is. He showed a lot of promise with long sixes when he came in but plays a lot of dot balls that nullifies the six. Priyam Garg, Abishek Sharma, Abdul Samad are exciting young talents with amazing potential. Abdul Samad is the raw big hitting finisher from JK who can be groomed into another Hardik Pandya. Priyam Garg is a pure batsman who can play a long innings when required. Like Abdul, Abishek Sharma as well is a hitter who can bowl as well and can play a long innings when required (Against CSK). Sadly except for a few occasions they have failed to use their opportunity to make it count. Maybe it’s too early.

Pace attack looks worrisome post the departure of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Natrajan is that lone bright spot in the attack who can bowl Yorkers at will. He’s becoming predictable in the latter part and needs to improve his variations. Khaleel Ahmed is another left arm seamer who can bowl over 140kph but he constantly misses his line thus leaking runs. Sandeep Sharma is that swing bowler upfront to take wickets and has been good only occasionally. Siddarth Kaul and Basil Thampi were good talents when they came into the team but sadly or so they have completely been wrecked to pieces by the batsmen. The backup Indian players too in the likes of Shabhaz Nadeem, Virat Singh and Sanjay Yadav possess some good talents but none to the level to face the pressure of IPL.

Need to win the remaining 3 to reach playoffs and I truly have no hope with this team. It will truly be a miracle if they make it. Maybe like Delhi, we will look strong in the upcoming years. Hopefully so!

TL:DR — Just venting out my worries about SRH!
