I’m a sucker for British series and series based on relationships and stuff. Lovesick is a package containing both in a perfect way to appease the audience.

A hopeless romantic is diagnosed with Chlamydia and reaches out to his past sex partners. While contacting them, he rekindles his untold emotions towards his friend with whom he has fallen in love through the years. The action and consequences of his acts and how he gets together with the girl form the crux of the plot.

One of the many things that I liked about the series was the way the screenplay is written which has the possibility to fall into a template yet succeeds in offering something new every episode. The casting was perfect which aptly suited the UK setting. Antonia Thomas as the female lead was cute (and hot) as hell. The series has a mellow tone that completely transcends on the screen to offer a soothing watch.

The characters in the series were one among the many things that made me love the series. I couldn’t find a single annoying character. Also, the portrayal of emotions such as having untold feelings towards someone, facing tumultuous disruption inside, the bond between guys were splendidly shown adding soul to the series. Special appreciations to the BGM and soundtracks in the series which amped up the mood on the screen.

On the downside, the latter part of the final season felt unnecessary. The story gets completed around the middle of the third(and final) season yet it’s been stretched for another 4 episodes which add no value. Also, the directionless screenplay in the final season is very much visible. The finale of the series ends on a positive note yet it lacked a punch to leave a lasting remark. Albeit the shortcomings, really liked the series for its story, characters, and calm tone.

~Recommended.
