My heart feels heavy now. I have just completed #OneDay on Netflix, a beautiful romance drama that is endearing, heartfelt which makes you grin yet crushes your soul even if you were ready for it.

Dexter is getting ready for a big opening of his show and he's panicking. He tries to calm himself down but to no avail. He calls Emma with whom he talks for a few minutes and everything is back to normal again. This is a beautiful scene that conveys the gist of the relationship depicted in the show. Love doesn't require you to be present all the time, it's present forever and you just have to embrace it.

One Day as an interesting presentation picking only one day of the protagonist's life of each year and narrating the story. I had read the reviews on twitter and how it's soul crushing and I was prepared for it. But, the show hits you hard even then because you are traveling with the couple for several years (not literally) that you feel the pain as much as the protagonist feels when things take an unexpected turn.

One Day is not all pain. It's a beautiful love story of two unique characters who have so much love for the other person yet their illustration is not the usual. The chemistry between Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall was terrific. They sync so well that you would actually believe if they had known each other for 15 odd years.

The growth and development of the two characters was not always contrasting which usually is the case, they go through a lot of struggles, affairs, breakups yet the two continue to get in touch with each other, even if it’s to fight over how each other has changed.

I loved One Day to the core 'cause I got to reminisce about certain characters from my life who I have lost touch over the years. It was painful but there were periods of bliss that I couldn't stop adoring.

The ending got me thinking if it was kept for shock value. The makers could have easily had an alternate ending that everyone would be happy about but pain lasts longer and that's the reason the show ended the way it did. It throws light on preserving the love and cherishing the presence which was beautiful. Despite that, I would like to believe life is beautiful and happily ever afters are possible.
