In the arms of Intimacy

Intimacy is a complex affair to those who have stayed alone for a long time. Solitude is a slow yet exponentially pleasing experience. Loneliness is an obvious presence in solitude. Humans are social animals and they cannot transit to solitude in a blink of an eye. The loneliness is felt but the experience is calming to the soul. The silence gives you time to think, good and bad. It lets you introspect and recalculate your decisions. It's a rewarding exposure.

With time, the loneliness is adjusted by. The act of doing it all alone becomes normal. Gradually, the doors are closed and walls are raised. The current state of mind is simple though not what you expected to be, it gives you sanity without weighing over your conscience.

To such beings, opening up to a new person and experiencing intimacy is an uphill task. Irrespective of how the person is adaptive to change, intimacy is a tough first step. It's like letting go of the current peace in the hope for an uncertain future. The future is prone to be beautiful at first. It's never known. The uncertainty can be killing. To take it or leave it is a difficult question, what if it's sour and not sweet. What if the calmness that is present now never returns again.

When intimacy comes into play, the game changes. To be seen and beloved gives a wild joy in the heart, the feeling is unmatched. But, there are more characters at work. To get some you lose some. Every human being is unique and no two souls are made for each other that can stay long without having any disgruntlement.

This is the crucial make or break point. If there's lovely spring season, there sure will be a dark and cold winter as well. The ability to accept both with a wider heart lacks in a lot of us. The winter in solitude is on himself alone. When he opens up, it's not limited as such and it's not gratifying as well. So, the heart should embrace the difficulty just as the pleasantries.

The intimacy is showing you care. To take efforts for someone other than you isn't exactly appealing but a necessity to show you love, everybody isn't a mind reader. The complication in it is the measure of it is unknown. You have to take efforts but you wouldn't know if it's too much or too small. It's a risky excercise to perform but there's love in it thus making it up for any mistakes or disagreements it may arise, love cannot be hated. However, the fear of love becoming overwhelming cannot be overlooked.

Taking two people as two different circles in a Venn diagram, there should be a common space between the two but there also should be space for the opposite person to operate. Nobody knows the perfect formula for a prolonged intimacy without any sourness, it's trail and error basically and the heart to take an attempt is all one needs.
