Deadpool and Wolverine (2024)
I have had the case of superhero fatigue for almost two years now. I could enjoy none of the superhero movie anymore. None of the movies interested me and even this, I wasn't sure I would love.
Fortunately, it was a laughter therapy for two hours with Deadpool and Wolverine that I enjoyed every bit of it. Deadpool is a wacky, unpredictable and irreverent superhero. He is the least superhero-esque superhero who has no regard for anyone and continues to bash anything that moves.
Maybe that's what makes him special, a not so uppity superhero who is as cool as he can be. Deadpool and Wolverine has enough scope for the banters and digs at almost everything in the Hollywood and Ryan Reynolds doesn't miss a single thing. The laughters kept coming that brought tear in my eyes at the end of first hour itself.
Hugh Jackman continued to ooze mass with his portrayal as Logan that made the whistles go louder and louder everytime he brought his claws out. It's a well known fact that Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are good friends off screen and the chemistry was very much visible on the screen. It was free flowing and the digs they land up on each other and the comebacks, it was excellent.
Besides the two, there are a bunch of cameos and almost every single one of 'em brought either laughters or whistles in the theatre. The camaraderie between the actors on how they gell well with each other and how they take no offense for slanders or don't mind showing up even if it's for a small scene, it was fun and wholesome.
The story is pretty basic but sufficient for the movie. The screenplay laced with endless one-liners made the movie enjoyable. The 3D was effective in certain scenes alone. The technicalities were of Marvel standards and there weren't anything to complaint about it.
If I have to pick on the movie, it would be the fun quotient again. The tempo gets a bit serious in the second hour but the mind is used to the laughs that you expect a comeback from Deadpool. The sentiment quotient was adequate but it drops and becomes distant in scenes where Wolverine talks about his character, maybe I am new to Wolverine, it might not have worked for me.

Deadpool is indeed the Marvel Jesus.
