CSK was the most tweeted team during the auction, thanks to their excellent buy in Stokes for 16 crore. He is seen as an heir to the throne of MS and I honestly think on the same lines. He is one of the match winners whom you can rely on to bail you out. He's an able leader, great batsman and a decent bowler(he won't bowl 4 but can be good on his day). They bought Rahane for base price. I was surprised at the move, possibly as a backup for Robbie but he doesn't provide you the firepower that Robbie would give.
They bought Jamieson for base price again. The tall lanky pacer isn't really a match winner yet in T20s but can be one if he's groomed well. There are other exciting buys like Nishant Siddhu, Sheik Naveed from U19 squad but them getting a chance is as probable as RCB winning a trophy. Overall, looks a great team filled with several match winners. One of the finalists for 2023.

Coming to my team and the team that has faced several criticism over the past 2 years, Sunrisers Hyderabad. They got rid of their biggest baggage Kane Williamson which got them 16cr in purse. Auction wise, I was satisfied as a fan as there wasn't any clown buys. The talents they have bought are no mugs. Some haven't proven yet but they are not mugs. Harry Brook for 13cr is an overpriced buy but the lad has got immense potential to make huge impact. Mayank Agarwal at 8cr is another player that SRH redemption is on line. At Punjab, KL and Mayank were dynamic duo a couple of years before. Among the two, Mayank would be the enforcer who would go for shots, One of the important qualities in T20 game, beinh selfless. Yes he has faced a downfall lately, dropped from national team and has been out of form for Karnataka team as well. But being a proven player like Mayank, one good knock is all they need to go big again. With Tripathi and Abishek Sharma at top, can expect some fiery starts in the PP.
They brought Klassen for 5.25 cr while they have Glenn Philips as keeper already, quite an unnecessary buy but guys has won matches against India and is a good player of spin. So could be handy I guess. They replaced the best Rashid with mediocre Rashid available, though bought at base price, don't see him creating any impact. As always, they have gone big for Vivrant Sharma, Jammu and Kashmir talent who has done well in domestic circuits. Their buys of Samarth Vyas and Sanvir Singh is also good investment, considering both have been star performers for their domestic team(Saurashtra and Punjab) in recently concluded Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali trophy. Though they haven't done any poor buys like last year(Shepherd 6.75 cr and another good for nothing BBL fraud for 8cr), I miss an authoritative figure to lead them. Aiden Markram is the closest who can be an able leader. There goes a saying, if you don't know how to use the resources, it's simply useless. Exciting talents, but if and only if they had leading figure(looks at stokes). They would have looked better.

Coming to the strongest team after auctions, Mumbai Indians. They broke the bank for Cameron green. While he's a great player to invest on, 17.5 crore is definitely high. He is not a great bowler and his batting is useful only when he opens. Needs to be seen on how they use him. They made up for this with some great buys in other departments. For instance, Vishnu Vinod is an excellent talent from Kerala who's raring to go and they literally stole him for 20Lakhs. They got their Mumbai lead spinner in domestic for Shams Mulani as well. They have Jason Behrendorff already as backup for Archer and they yet went again for Jhye Richardson. Their pace department looks scary good. There's Duan Jansen as well, another SA budding prospect.
Their spin department is where they seemed to lack. They haven't had a proper spinner for years. While Shams Mulani has been great, they need a proper spinner to rely on. They have got Vaanam thottu pona saamy Piyush Chawla for base price. He hasn't been in form for a while now and I doubt if he will ever get a game this season. I'm unaware about the domestic talents they signed.
Regardless, they look scary good and are a close contenders for the title.

Next up is the entertainers of the IPL, Royal Challengers Banglore. They were silent for most of the proceedings as they didn't have purse to buy marquee players. They secured Reece Topley, he was on great form against India in the ODI series when we toured this year. They have also bought Will Jacks who's supposedly an exciting English allrounder. Their domestic scouting is one to notice. They brought very very new players like Rajan Kumar or Himanshu Kumar, doubt if they start in their domestic teams atleast. Apparently, their scout Malolan Rangarajan is known for his scouting and we can expect these signed players to surprise us. Anothe point to note is their affinity to sign Karnataka domestic players is incredible, no other teams(coughs, CSK) does like that.
With very few players bought can't decide the best and poor buy.

Coming to the reigning champions, Gujarat Titans. Like last time, they made some interesting buys. They started with Kane for base price but doubt if he will be able to replicate his 2018 SRH season again, his injury is hurting, form depleted. Odean Smith is another intersting buy that can turn into boon or Bane. He's a shittiest bowler I have seen in international cricket but his quick fire cameos are worth in gold, so it will be interesting to see if they use him as pure batter. They added Srikar b
Bharath to their wicket keepers, a fine talent who can play long innings. Their bowling as well seems settled with the addition of Joshua Little and Noor Ahmed. Noor Ahmed from Afghan is a good prospect who will be a backup option, Joshua Little was a net bowler at CSK last year and he proved his worth in the recently concluded WT20.

Coming to the team with awful logo and jersey, Lucknow Super Giants. Leaving out the overpriced and probably futile Pooran Buy, they seemed to settled for intersting complimentary players rather than proven match winners. I have my perspective changed after I saw what Daniel Sams did for MI last year, he's a fine buy for 75L. Naveen ul Haq is another good pacer who can give you 2 wickets for 7.5 eco on his day. Unadkat has been doing well in domestic. If used up front instead of death, He will give you returns. They have brought Romario Shepherd and Amit Mishra. I am more confident om the latter delivering than the former. However, their domestic talents look good. Yash Thakur, Perara Mankad, Yudhvir Singh are some good contributors of their domestic team. While the new buys don't add much confidence, they complement well for the existing team that looks formidable.

Coming to the purple sokka, Kolkata Knight Riders. They had a rather dull outing and would have been very worse if not for their final steals in Litton Dos and Shakib Al Hasan. Even the mentioned two will be unavailable for major part of IPL2023 due to national duties. They did themselves good with Jagadeesan 2.0 for 90Lakhs. He has been pretty ordinary T20 player who despite having the ability to strike tends to play slow, like KL Rahul. He has found a new motivation in him as he had been scoring runs in piles. Looking at the KKR squad, I'm confident he will start. The trade of Gurbaz and Lockie is a gift in disguise as without them they would look even more depleted. They have brought David weise for base price but with Russell being the star allrounder, he's most likely to be a backup allrounder, still a good buy. Mandeep Singh is another Mayank Agarwal kind of buy who has the capability but has lost his form in the recent past. Here at KKR, he will get enough opportunity, its upto him to make them count. They have locked Vaibhav Arora(great pacer who won the game for Punjab against CSK last year) for 60 crore, that's a steal if you ask.

Coming to the clowns of this auction, Delhi Capitals. I call them clowns coz their buying were all bizarre and clueless. They already have set top 3 and their backup as well yet they have got 3 more players in Roussow, Manish and Philip Salt for the position. Roussow is great but with overseas cap constraints and the set top 3, doubt if he will get to play. Also, they have Khaleel, Chetan and Nagarkoti as Indian pacers yet they again went for Mukesh Kumar 5.5 cr. He's a good talent and his story seems to be inspiring but DC made a mistake there to buy him for such hefty price. They have also locked Ishant Sharma for 50 lakhs, nothing to say.

Coming to the junior entertainers of the IPL, Kings XI Punjab. Unlike the previous IPL, they seemed to have done well this season. They broke the bank for Sam Curran who is obviously over priced, he's good but he's definitely not 18.5 crore good. They made up for it by locking Sikkandar Raza for base price, worthy addition to their all-rounders set. They added some more local talents which I haven't heard much of. Interestingly, they didn't raise their pad for all the players like they used to and they didn't make any clown buys this season.

Coming to this auctions Punjab, Rajasthan royals. They were over excited for several players and were crazy in their approach. They literally bid till 13 crore for brook, when all they had was 13.2 in the purse. They made some good buy as well. Zampa at 1.5 cr is a worthy addition to the team while KM Asif will finally get to play after warming the bench for 2-3 years at CSK. They also locked a worthy allrounder in Holder for 6 crore, great bowler and a decent batter who can hit some big blows in the death overs. They brought Root for Base price in accelerated auction, guess Jos Butler would have wanted a mate to chat with during IPL. Pujara buy who's most probably not gonna play a game

Here's a conclusion the biggg writeup:
Kings- CSK, MI
Clowns- DC
Spoilsports- Rajasthan Royals
The Bystanders- SRH
I want to conclude this write-up with a reminder that GT was tagged the worst team after auction yet they went on to win the title last year. So, you never know!
Adios!
